Founded in 2015, Singapore-based ADDO Chamber Orchestra (ADDO) is a collective of enthusiastic professional musicians with a strong interest in performing classical and contemporary music led by founder and music director, Clarence Tan. As a niche orchestra, ADDO is performing a variety of repertoire written for chamber orchestra combining it with theatrical staging and educational narrative.
Highlights for ADDO’s season in 2015 includes collaborating with the Christina Zhou in Bruch’s Violin Concerto and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. ADDO is the appointed resident orchestra for the Piano Concerto Festival in Singapore and collaborated with various young talented pianists performing Prokofiev, Mozart and Tchaikovsky piano concerti.
ADDO Chamber Orchestra’s highlights in the 2016 exciting season includes collaborating with local horn artist Alan Kartik on presenting the Mozart Horn Concerti cycle, with double bassist Xu Li on Baker Contours for bass, harpsichord and strings, soprano Angela Cortez on Mozart Exulate Jubilate, soprano Wendy Woon on Stabat Mater by Pergolesi and Scarlatti, Beethoven Sixth Symphony, and Mozart Symphony No. 35 and the next installation of Piano Concerto Festival.
In 2017, ADDO Chamber Orchestra restructured to become ADDO Arts Company that enables the expansion of its artistic programming to promotes interdisciplinary performances with strong interests in classical and contemporary music.
